What’s in store for 2020?

With the marquee names of the global elevator industry now becoming increasingly present in India, the country’s elevator sector is steadily adopting more and more international standards and technologies. Given the country’s rapidly growing economy and vast urban population, India is also of strategic importance to many international elevator manufacturers. Vertical growth is now increasingly visible in the expanding cities of India, resulting from rising land costs. At the same time, higher government spend on infrastructure projects such as metro rail and mono rail initiatives, as well as the redevelopment of railway stations and the modernisation of airports and green field airports, are also key drivers in the demand for elevators and escalators in the country.
